TP MAZEMBE PRESS CONFERENCE

Mazembe wants to be a regular Champion

November 7, 2012

Sunday afternoon, TP Mazembe gave a press conference in the living rooms of Hotel Ascension in Gombe municipality in Kinshasa where they set up their head quarter since their arrival in Kinshasa Tuesday October 30.  A session, during which, club leaders presented the club position following the recent events that occurred in the framework of LINAFOOT championship.

Mohamed KAMWANYA, the Vice-President was with the Chief Financial Officer, CFO Salomon IDI KALONDA DELLA and the Sports Secretaries Jean NGOY SENDWE and Adolph KABAMBA MWANABUTE. They faced a great number of 30 journalists.

TPM stands for the regular end of the Championship.

At the opening of the session, Salomon IDI said his club arrived in Kinshasa to play against DCMP, in an equation with an unknown - The derogation from the Ministry to extend the season - but as soon as the equation was solved than came another unknown with the position of the Governor of the city and his refusal to insure the security of the match.

During all this time and theses adventures, TPM has kept a guideline: adamant to continue  training with the goal of playing all the games as scheduled and allow the Linafoot to complete its championship in regularity.  And the result could be achieved if the Governor did come to spoil the party; he explained and kept on with two other questions:

-       If  previously you could not  ensure safety in the Martyrs Stadium, will there be safety before the deadline  of November 20 as imposed by the ministerial decree?

-       If TPM does not play the same number of matches like its rivals, how then are you going to nominate the representative of the DRC in CAF Championship?

DCMP could be the big loser if...

He noted the assumption where FECOFA would use the last year verdict in qualifying V.Club and TPM in Champions League, then Lupopo and Don Bosco (regular winners of the Cup of Congo 2012) thus, this could eliminate... DCMP

The Governor KIMBUTA can he be suspected of wanting to benefit V.Club? The response was clever. When you are a provincial leader you must learn how to be above the fray, even if you were a club leader.... Everybody understood.

Will V.Club be well received in Lubumbashi?

They ask him a question about the safety of the scheduled match on 18 against V.Club.  TPM officials were formal. “When TPM plays at home in their Kamalondo Stadium, the club is able to ensure safety for its guests.” They said. They gave an example of the game against Esperance” where some supporters wanted to put the game under the revenge sign following the case of disqualification in 2011, but the game was conducted in quite atmosphere.  So why not Mazembe cannot guarantee to V.Club the same safety as they did for the Tunisian Club?” Salomon said.

On his side, the secretary Adolph KABAMBA could not help coming back on the delayed matches of the Katangese Club. He recalled that TPM is playing the Champions League since 2009 and twice went in the finals and this year in the semifinals. In addition, the club is a leading provider of international players to the DRC national team,  and yet the FIFA  and CAF dates are known but Linafoot does not take into account when building its schedule. Why?

V. Club victim of its leaders’ jealousy

TMP and V.Club players are having friendly relationships, but leaders of V.Club continue to vilify those of TPM.  According to Jean NGOY SENDWE “ TPM will play its remaining matches regardless  the dates that will be scheduled and without asking anything in return.” he declared.

Mazembe is ready and if we are told to play on Wednesday TPM will there on Tuesday... (In the meantime, the delegation will go to Lubumbashi on Monday to prepare   the match against Sanga Balende on Wednesday)

About V.Club, the Vice president KAMWANYA  added more details “ if the VODACOM premium is the crux of the problem with our colleagues from Vita, we are ready to win them on our pitch and pay them $ 100,000of the Championship after the match” He said.

As a final word, TPM leaders reaffirmed that “ we are proud of the image that the club provides of the Congolese football abroad... We would like everybody to say the same.
