The Chairman Moïse KATUMBI CHAPWE presented to his fellow-citizens of DRC the Prize Black Star of Africa, 2012. The event took place during a dinner offered in his honor Sunday evening, in the KASHOBWE hall of a new restaurant at Casa Degli Italiano in Lubumbashi. The trophy was awarded by the Millennium Excellence Foundation on December 15 in Nairobi, Kenya, for his generosity and involvement in the change of the economic situation of Africans during the last decade. Moïse KATUMBI, who is the author of gestures which have direct and considerable impact in improving the lives of Africans, is the first Congolese to be on the podium.

The consecration of Moïse KATUMBI is the result of investigations conducted across Africa by the organizers and independent groups of international experts. They discovered an African who distinguished himself in several areas (sports and TP Mazembe, politics with his position as Governor of Katanga, etc.) and that of good governance  in particular. It was in Nairobi on December 15 that the prestigious ceremony of distinction took place. LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AFRICA PRIZE awarded the Chairman Moïse KATUMBI as Governor of Katanga with the prize "BLACK STAR OF AFRICA 2012". Among many other personalities honored let’s name the Governor of Akwa Ibom State Goswill Akpabio, former Zambian President Ruphiah BANDA, President MWAI KIBAKI from Kenyan, etc..

Amongst the past recipients of the prize we count the following personalities; The South African Bishop Desmond Tutu, former UN Secretary General KOFI ANNAN, the former president of the World Bank, James WOLFENSOHN, and the famous Nigerian writer WOLE SOYINKA, etc.

Black Star Award to Moïse for his ongoing commitment

TPM through some members of staff leader, Mohamed KAMWANYA, Jean NGOY SENDWEand AdolphKABAMBA and other leaders of sports organizations in the province, were invited for the dinner in honor of "Moïse KATUMBI," the activist in promoting sport in DRC.

The prize Black Star of AFRICA is awarded to a personality who has been an architect of a democratic process, who provides leadership and is working hard for the community. Regarding the Chairman Moses   KATUMBI, this prize was awarded for his commitment in the interests of his fellow countrymen and women. Moïse KATUMBI, even against all odds, to the despair and misery, finds the courage and strength to involve interest groups established by seeking to unite and work together in the interest of all.
