Ravens deserved better in Mbuji-Mayi

The Red of SMSB often cleared on the fly and TPM ruined too many opportunities

D1, DAY 3: SANGA BALENDE - MAZEMBE 1-0

Ravens deserved better in Mbuji-Mayi

October 22, 2014

After a match unbridled marked by some errors of the referee, the TPM fell before Sa Majesté Sanga Balende during the third day of D1. On one of their two occasions in the first half, the Blood and Gold, through MUSEMA have scored the only goal of the match. And Mazembe comes back from Mbuji-Mayi once again trapped.

For this very important match between two Congolese representatives to the Champion’s League next season, we have attended to the famous observation round, where the men of Patrice CARTERON have put pressure on the Blood and Gold.

First we note two corners in two minutes and then it was Jonathan BOLINGI who overflowed on the right side, not in offside position, his strike is returned (4th).

A refereeing to nearly

In the continuationit is the goalkeeper KUBIDISA who must fill in his defense in the 5th: Following a long opening of Joel KIMWAKI, Adama TRAORE appears alone, strikes twice and the goalkeeper with his hands drives out the ball while it is outside his area! For the referee, it is a fault that deserves a yellow card while the regulation does not procrastinating at this point: we need a red!

Adama TRAORE was less inspired

The game is balanced afterwards and we had to wait until the 13th for Aimé BAKULA to deploy and stop a free kick from 30 meters by LUYINDAMA. If opportunities are not forthcoming, the game continues to build muscles, and Sanga Balende gives himself air without necessarily worrying the defense. Merveille BOPE quite in place before the defense begins and offers Adama TRAORE a ball goal in the 23rd minute.  It's pity for the No. 11 of TPM who fails on the goalkeeper. The match is chopped and it is playing a lot in the air, Salif COULIBALY received a yellow in the 28th for the unwarranted protest but logical given the maneuvers of the referee.

Small lack of concentration, which was costly

And on one of the few times when the defense of TPM has shown some signs of restlessness, the worst happens: KABAMBA totally forgotten on the right managed to cross the ball on the foot of MUSEMA. The defense of TPM was quite behind on this occasion in the 35th and Sanga Balende leads 1-0. Long before the half-time, Mazembe trying to respond but once again Adama TRAORE is less inspired (41st).

After the break, Ravens are more impactful and settle into the opponent camp. A burst about to pay but nothing came out. Neither a ball fumbled in the area of Sanga Balende following a corner (55th) and finally went out on the line, nor the overflow of Ousmane CISSE who will serve a ball back to Adama TRAORE the lonely young striker in the penalty box missing completely his shot (65th). Minutes are ticking, Mazembe is chasing that goal... the referee continues his fuss!

Sanga Balende had no more resources

Physically blunted by the pressure of the Ravens who put all their energy trying to come from behind, Sanga Balende players had no resources to contain the onslaught of Mazembe and remain ashore on all the duels to save time.

Bad luck in Mbuji-Mayi goes after TPM who is not immunized from a second goal. Luckily Joel KIMWAKI put his foot in opposition (88th). Even the entries of Yannick TUSILU and Daniel ADJEI two minutes before the end do not bring out Ravens off the trap... the Disappointment is up to the big ball and missed connections on multiple occasions! It's frustrating because the TPM deserved better.
