For V.Club the devil has a name: KALABA

March 22, 2015

Mazembe-V.Club, a full stadium, a quiet public although reassembled with emotion during a sunny afternoon with an ambient temperatures reaching 27 degrees in the shade: ideal conditions for a classico. At the end, 1-1, they had to rely on a big mistake of V. Club defenders for the "Maestro" KALABA to equalize in the last minute of injury time...

TPM surprised: an own goal

A very committed start of the game for V. Club issue forces, the 22 players attack the meeting, always special, pumped. The first mistakes are on the advantage of the Ravens: The Pass of Salif COULIBALY for Rainford KALABA is cleared from the 1st minute. Then comes this foul by Joel KIMWAKI, the captain of TPM has skewed Firmin MUBELE. The eccentric free-kick by Héritier LUVUMBU, when reviewing the images, the ball in front of 5 meters meets the head of Yaw FRIMPONG (not BOLINGI, sorry Johan) who deflects it basically goal against his own camp and it gives advance for the visitors from the 3rd minute.

Rushed, the Ravens are trying to reorganize themselves but their last passes do not reach the target. A missed start for TPM who is very offensive with two strikers at kick-off. Never this season, TPM had ever missed his start so early in the game. Neither Solomon ASANTE nor Mbwana SAMATTA even Rainford KALABA had not found light in half of the pitch of Dauphins Noirs.

Incident yes, they should play it down

The stadium will quickly face off against players of TPM unrecognizable before the V. Club's realism. The poor performance of Ravens will mingle with an incident that occurs far from the stadium and will cause the interruption of the match. A policeman dropped a tear gas outside the enclosure for some unexplained reason. The wind blew the gas within the central tribune that looks the grandstand. Several supporters V.Club panicked and afraid to suffocate climb the railings which separate the pitch and took refuge on the lawn. The police and the security service involved and fans are placed in front in the grandstand and the match can resume. At this time, no injuries to deplore a result of this incident should be played down.

The match restarts; the TPM is merely fine with a face-to-face missed by Jonathan BOLINGI during the 13 minutes of extra time of this first half.

Upon resumption, Mazembe attacks and V. Club defends

After the break, Mazembe takes things in hand with the rise of Daniel ADJEI in place of Given SINGULUMA in midfield but V.Club gives first alert. On an overflow by Frimin MUBELE on the right, Salif COULIBALY is offered a sprint and put the ball in the corner (48th). The Ravens had no time to lose and move forward, Yaw FRIMPONG triggers an offensive from the halfway line; the Ghanaian is irregularly stopped before the penalty area (51st). The kick off that follows is cleared by the defense of Kinshasa.

Ravens do not give up; Solomon ASANTE crosses to the far post, Mbwana SAMATTA misses (52nd). Rainford KALABA does not fit the free-kick in the 55th but returned six minutes later with a heavy shot on target. Well positioned in the path of the ball, Nelson LUKONG succeeds an exceptional parade! Seeking balloons providers for his forwards, Patrice CARTERON launches Jean KASUSULA in place of Richard KISSI BOATENG who had not fallen (63th). Once entered, KASUSULA puts a cross on the head of Salif COULIBALY: Nelson Lukong miraculously returns the leather (65th). The winger returned to the attack in the 70th, his axial-kick off ends on the crossing bar and Mbwana SAMATTA fails on his diving header!

20 minutes before the end, then the Ravens should make everything to expect at least a draw. Under pressure, Solomon ASANTE receives a yellow following a protest (78th); he is then replaced by Thomas ULMWENGU. Once entered, the Tanzanian striker on an infinity speeding loose a shot that the goalkeeper LUKONG deflects into a corner (80th).

V. Club was wrong to protest, it is quite a worthy goal

Mazembe has a stranglehold on the game, Rainford KALABA tumbles on the left, his crossing ball meets Jonathan BOLINGI who uncrossed it but his header goes off target (84th). Time flies, V. Club gleans minutes, substitutes who are warming up taunt the public to force the match being abandoned but are called to order. While the referee indicates 3 minutes of stoppage time, a cross by Rainford KALABA passes before the goal but Jonathan BOLINGI is behind the action.

Everything is still possible, we play the last minute of injury time (92'45), Daniel ADJEI is fouled in the penalty area, V. Club players expect penalty for Mazembe! But the referee made no signals but requested to continue the game instead. The defenders Kinshasa stopped when the goalkeeper LUKONG missed to control the ball... as a Surface fox, Rainford KALABA is there to equalize. The fans rejoice while V. Club is wrong to protest. For Dauphins Noirs the devil has a name: KALABA!
