CARTERON: «We had the best supporters»

"We struggled at first but fans helped us"

AFTER TPM - SUNDOWNS (3-1)

CARTERON: «We had the best supporters»

April 8, 2015

This is a very happy man who appeared before the press after the qualification. Patrice CARTERON has commended the audience immediately recognized his team had tough time; they struggled to implement his game plan. Here are some excerpts from the speech by the TPM Coach.

His analysis of the match

«We had to succeed before Mamelodi Sundowns sincerely I thank the fans because we have not been well in the first half. We felt we were tense, we did not manage to implement what had worked in the drives: playing very fast on the ground, moving from one side to the other. The public has not lost hope. I felt a little nervous in the mind of my players, but eventually gradually we get released. Sincerely against Sundowns, we had the best supporters of Africa in our stadium. If they encourage us this way, they deserve we bring them the trophy back. »

Another tough game end

« Instead the score of Sundowns, I note further the mess we had on some counter-attacks. We even had fairly easy balls of 4-0 but showed a little too much individualism. When we can hurt the opponent, we must really go. We are still at times too playful. By raising all major players in front at the end of the match, Sundowns has focused on the long game, and we were actually struggling a bit. The most important is to have held this score and play a big final eighth round. Against Stade Malien of Bamako, it'll still be a great shock and a great quality show for our audience. »
