C1 – IN PRESSE CONFERENCE

CARTERON not very happy with his line-up

September 27, 2015

In the post-match press conference, Patrice CARTERON testified all his disappointment on the eleven that started at kickoff. The technician of the Ravens did not appreciate that he was obliged to change two players after 50 minutes. In his speech, he also acknowledged that Al Merreikh was individually and collectively in place. Excerpts:

Your comments on this first leg match?

There will be a second leg match in a week time... It's a defeat that we must accept. There have been many occasions on both sides, there was a knock on the crossbar and with a bit of luck we hit the post. We had an opportunity in the second half, which for me is inevitable that a player preferred the personal solution to the collective. Overall, it was bad in the first half. I would have taken break and only change a good part of the team. I want to say that it is a lesser evil.

At the level of individual and collective performance of the players, I think it was one of the lowest of the season. That is to say that I was very unpleasantly surprised by the level of players. Is it because we arrived very early, Is it because we spared them too much? This is also the staff to ask the right questions. It is sure that if we want a chance to qualify next week, we'll have to find another level.

How did you find Merreikh and a word on arbitration?

We had the opposition that I expected. A quality team, very offensive with great individualities. Collectively, I found Al Merreikh in place. On arbitration, he had, after 3 minutes, there should be a penalty in favor of Mbwana SAMATTA that was not whistled. On both sides, we can challenge the arbitration.

Happy to have launched ULIWMENGU instead of KALABA?

I found that Rainford KALABA was very tired, not performant on Saturday over what he can bring to us. Make two substitutions after 50 minutes it means that many have started with too few arguments. We still had an offensive change to make, I knew Thomas ULIMWENGU with his power and speed, could exploit the spaces, and that's what he did well on equalization.
