V.Club disqualified, Sundowns fished out

In C1, the biggest disappointment for the Congolese football is the disqualification of AS V.Club. CAF has made it official on its website, the disqualification of the AS V.Club for having lined up in the preliminary round of the Champion’s League, a non-eligible player, the Malian Idrissa TRAORE, who was suspended.

CAF has taken this decision following a complaint of Stade Malien, club which the player belongs to before joining the team from Kinshasa. TRAORE was suspended for four matches and he had three to serve when he joined Vita. The Organizing Committee for interclub competitions has thus disqualified AS V.Club and fished out his last opponent, Mamelodi Sundowns. This is a real blow to the Congolese football because V.Club had a place in the quarter-finals of Champion’s League.
