C2: AFTER MEDEAMA-TPM (3-2)

LUYINDAMA: « The defeat was avoidable … »

August 17, 2016

It is a feeling of frustration that dominated the two central defenders of TPM, Christian LUYINDAMA and Salif COULIBALY after a loss before Ghanaians of Medeama. They spoke, excerpts:

Salif COULIBALY: "We stayed on a good run. We could have come back with a point from Ghana. Medeama was confident until the last minute. It's a shame to lose like that, but we'll have to keep working. We had to get a result in Ghana. We deserved the point of draw, at the end we leave with nothing. It's a shame to miss the game. We should not be discouraged, the team has a future. We are certainly disappointed, but we absolutely have to raise the head because we still have a home game to finish first."

Christian LUYINDAMA"On the goal, Djos, Salif, Jean and I were well lined. In watching again the images, I noticed like everyone else that the striker was quite well in an offside position and that in the 95th minute... Medeama led 2-0 thanks to two ball stopped. We returned to score but failed to hold it. The assistant referee did not report the disputed position of the Ghanaian striker, we can only assume.

Overall, I liked the reaction of my teammates. It was not easy to be defeated after ascending two goals. Courage to all the team. I hope we will finish first in the group."
