The supporters of TPM were anxious, here they are reassured. By agreeing with Thierry FROGER, today in Paris, Chairman KATUMBI and Finance Director Salomon KALONDA DELLA, have chosen to pursue the French tradition on the Ravens bench. After GARZITTO, NDIAYE, CARTERON and VELUD, Thierry FROGER is the 5th on the list to take over the club of Lubumbashi.
The talks had been going on for several weeks, as the management of the club was studying several offers from French, Italian, Dutch and Belgian technicians. It was this Monday February 13th that the choice was achieved with the arrival of a seasoned coach: more than 700 matches at the edge of the pitch (after more than 200 as a player).
Thierry FROGER, soon 54, wished very early to become coach. He started at Mans, in the Training Center and then as a pro team where he was elected best coach of Ligue 2. He then went on to his L2, namely at Chateauroux, Gueugnon (again crowned best Coach in 2003/2004) Rennes, Nimes.
His only African experience remains his brief passage to the head of the national team of Togo (2010) after the drama of Cabinda, but Thierry FROGER often directed African players such as Herita ILUNGA.
The new coach will be in the plane on Wednesday night to join and encourage the Ravens in Pretoria where he will discover his new team. And he will start his work on the return of the Super Cup, next week.
