SENEGAL: Thanks from KOTO.- Joseph KOTO did not resist to the defeat of Senegal against Côte d’Ivoire, Africa Cup of Nations 2013. The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) sacked the coach of Lions de la Teranga; it was during a meeting of the Executive Committee. “The Coach Joseph KOTO and his assistant Karim SEGA DIOUF were bound by a contract of objectives which were not reached” said the President of the FSF, Augustin Senghor, quoted by the Senegalese Press Agency.

Joseph KOTO took the reins of the soccer team Lions after the volte-face of the French coach Pierre LECHANTRE. Despite a successful integration of the young Olympic Club and encouraging results, Senegal did not qualify for the CAN. Hence the decision by the Federation.  Awaiting for the appointment of a successor, Mayacine MAR, the National Technical Director will be the acting coach.

ARLES-AVIGNON Hired AKALE.- Free of contract, le left winger KANGA AKALE (former of Auxerre, Lens and Marseille) reappears in Arles – Avignon, without a club since he left Panetolikos the Ivorian international winger (31 years old) will engage until June 2014 with the current thirteenth French Ligue 2.

BOGDANOVIC WILL COACH THE AFRICA.- Milisav BOGDANOVIC was appointed as coach of AFRICA SPORTS ABIDJAN a week before the resumption of Ivorian championship. Recently, the Serbian technician held the same position in Bechem United (Ghana). Côte d’Ivoire is not unknown to him for he coached Séwé Sport of San Pedro, 2010 -2011. Africa Sports will play against ASEC Mimosa on the opening game of the new championship on November 2.  The match will be played behind closed doors because of the penalty hanging over Mimos.

ABOU-TREIKA shall play…- The Al Ahly manager, Hossam Al BADRI confirmed that Al Ahly midfielder Mohamed Abou-Treika will be part of the team that will play the final of the Champions League, despite his suspension.

The Egyptian club had imposed a suspension of two months over its star player; the suspension was announced in September 10 for having supported the fans who refused the resumption of matches.

“Abou-Treika back in the team for the final.The suspension is lifted. His coming back as well as that of Sayed MOAWAD and Walid SOLIMAN should have a very positive impact on our team in the final” AL-BADRI told AL Jazeera Sport TV.
