November 23, 2012
The Ghanaian midfielder Daniel NII ADJEI, from Asante KOTOKO Club, will probably be the number recruit of TP Mazembe which is organizing its staff for the 2013 season. On the Ghanaian side it was announced that the 23-year player played his last game with his current club last Sunday against Hearts of Oak.
Daniel ADJEI is often described by the media of his country as the “Iniesta of Kotoko”. Last year he was rewarded for his brilliant performance in the title of most valuable player of the year (Best player of the year) where ranked ahead Emmanuel BAFFOUR best scorer of the championship.
Mas-UD DRAMANI, coach of Kotoko regretted his departure cause it will leave a large void in the team of Porcupine Warriors that he has been one of the major players in the championship and thus for the qualification in the Champions League 2013. “We have substitutes for Daniel, but we are going to miss his leadership” DRAMANI said.
ADJEI is an elegant midfielder, capable of piercing through openings defense of laser. In Kotoko, he is the conductor who directs the game and sets the tempo. Local media wondered why on earth he was not selected in the national team for months. This has been done since the beginning of November when Daniel celebrated his first selection in the Black Stars, an acknowledgment of his talent and his great vision of the game.
“I know that Mazembe has got a lot of good players and it is not easy to be in the starting lineup, but I’m in this club with a lot of confidence and motivation, not to make shopping but to continue to be selected for the national team” ADJEI told Radio Fox in Kumasi.
Newspapers of Ghana said that he has an eye to give a pass as well as to score. And he was now ready to join a bug club in Europe. TP Mazembe was faster and expects a lot from his recruit, in waiting for others.
