KAROUI and KIDIABA are optimistic!

July 21, 2013

Facing reporters, Amir KAROUI and Robert KIDIABA commented the duel between Setif and Mazembe. The goalkeeper of the Ravens expressed his satisfaction after the sharing points and praised the performance of his teammates through a collective effort put in place. And according to the number 14 of Setif, Amir KAROUI, the failure against the TPM is a combination of circumstances: an internship not fully completed the first official match of the season and Ramadan did not act in their favor.

Amir KAROUI: "We deserved better, but ..."

"We share a very tough group and it is not easy to defeat a top team like TP Mazembe. We started the competition when we had not yet completed our internship in Sousse, Tunisia. The outline of the competition is very difficult for us in this time of Ramadan, but I think we have every chance to be qualified in this group. Given our performance against Mazembe, this result makes sense. Our opponent has overcome the African club competitions of CAF. I also think we deserved better, we had opportunities that we then harvested but with a little more work it predicts good things for the ongoing competition.

During our internship in Tunisia, the coach has implemented some strategies that have allowed us to stay in block against a team of Mazembe which is very competitive. We had control of the game, as usually on our pitch where we pretty much dominate teams who visit us. But today we missed the efficiency. There are five games ahead and we have to take them one after the other. "

Robert KIDIABA "Everybody defended and attacked ..."

"We were well prepared to address the group stage of the CAF Cup, facing Setif. Our team was tactically and physically well-developed we were sure to get better. The aim was to get positive result after at least three weeks of intensive internship in Ghana. The instructions of the coach Patrice CARTERON were strictly adhered to and we have not failed. It was reassuring to see Mazembe defending in moving forward and it did not give the enemy the means to easily cross the lines. The block remained in place throughout the game, even if we conceded this goal very soon after the scoring.  A Point outside at this stage of the competition is crucial. Since our first day of internship until the final whistle, we had a lot of respect for the Entente Setif ... It will be the same with other opponents. "
