Solomon ASANTE: "Showing our best face"
October 3, 2013
Ready for new challenges with the TPM , Solomon ASANTE kindly wanted to addressed in this brief interview, several topics that are of concern and which many supporters are questioning about. Forgotten or not, “Solo" is not among the 25 Black Stars who will face Egypt for the Mundial playoff, Brazil 2014. Then, the international Media ranks him amongst the 10 best Africans that will be coveted in Europe next mercato. Finally, “El Diablo” also talked to us about what is his concern: the semi-final against Stade Malien.
Solo you're here in Ghana with the TPM. How do you feel?
It is something great to come to Ghana, my country, with my team TPM. I'm glad to be here and show my teammates the Ghanaian culture, as I learned the Congolese culture. I am delighted that they have the opportunity to see with their own eyes Ghana and know it well during this third visit. Furthermore, I hope we’ll play well in Bamako against Stade Malien. On our side, we train very hard and we hope to show our best face, especially physically against a very good Malian team.
How do you cope?
The Bamako match is ours and that of Lubumbashi our supporters will take care of it. It is up to us to first go humbly before this great team of stade Malien. Then show that we did not lose time in Ghana. For our fans come many to support us and to make the game in the stands, we will prove that we can make it in Bamako. This will be a way to respect and encourage them to fill the stadium in the second leg. Let’s keep our patience ...
The name ASANTE Solo is not on the list of 25 Black Stars to face Egypt on 16 for the playoff of Mundial, a disappointment ?
First of all, I respect the choice of the coach. Good match for my country and a win against Egypt is welcome. I work with the TPM to be at the best shape and that is how I can get back in the national team.
Some media are already talking about a departure from the TPM in January, what is it?
I am a professional player and I still have four years contract with the TPM. In cases where proposals are made , I would discuss with my coach and my president, but there is no reason why I should quit. President Moïse KATUMBI is a good man and he knows how to guide the players. I will follow his pieces of advice.
What do you think of the trio MPUTU-KALABA-ASANTE for the rest of the competition?
Every day that passes, we adapt. When I arrived, I discovered a new team and I so quickly integrated into the system, there are professional requirements. Match after match, it works better and better. Let’s pray so that it is a fire attack. Sincerely, playing alongside guys like MPUTU and KALABA is something exceptional. They are intelligent and even geniuses they can place you in favorable situations at all times. With them, I am like a fish in water; especially our relations are good on and out of the pitch.
