Sepp Blatter: “No clubs, no football ..."

Joseph Sepp BLATTER, President of FIFA, closed on Friday evening the workshop on the professionalization of African Clubs, opened Thursday in Cape Town. The boss of the world football organisation is invited by CAF to attend the CHAN final between Libya and Ghana on Saturday. Informed about this encounter, he was keen to meet the presidents of clubs and whispered them in ear what they mean for FIFA. The Chairman of TPM Moïse KATUMBI attended the two-day workshop.

Four other themes have been addressed on the second day of reflection works between team leaders and CAF. The participants began by questioning the policy to be implemented for the training of young people in a professional club. The Chairman Moïse KATUMBI who has created a training center, the KFA for the future of his great TPM has listened carefully to the proposals of his colleagues.

For the second theme on TV rights, production and distribution of visuals, delegates of Sport Five shared with the owners of clubs producers of the shows. All Chairmen expressed the wish to see Sport Five bring more expertise to the CAF for the television and advertising rights to increase in order to allow clubs to get back more dividends. Let’s also note from the speech of the delegate of Sport Five the classification of TV channels producing matches. After Northern Africa region there is Mali then the television channel that broadcasts in Lubumbashi all matches of TP Mazembe: The media group of Nyota Radio Television.

The clubs followed a presentation on what is happening in other confederations on licensing of players. Finally, the participants have raised the legal aspect (clubs and players): In this vein, presidents of clubs received from CAF experts all the procedures for the protection of their interests and players under contract. All concerns were submitted to the experts.

Sepp BLATTER wants professional clubs in Africa

On his side, the FIFA president honored the club managers in reminding them the position the hold in FIFA. Speaking both French and English, Joseph Sepp BLATTER first paid tribute to Nelson MANDELA, the man through whom the World Cup was held in Africa.

For the boss of World Football Organisation, we need professional clubs in Africa to compete with other continents. The clubs are key element in the pyramid of FIFA, without which football doesn’t exist must take a greater dimension in business. How much football produced to date? How much money do you spend for the transfer of players? Etc. In response to these questions, BLATTER urged bosses of Soccer clubs to professionalize their entities.

It was by 17:00, through a group photo, that the participants have completed their workshop very interesting for clubs of the continent, especially for TPM represented by Chairman Moïse KATUMBI, CFO Solomon IDI KALONDA and athletic director Frédéric KITENGIE.
