C1 AND C2 - DRC WILL HAVE 4 CLUBS IN 16th
3 of 3 qualified: Congrats Congolese clubs!
February 18, 2014
As in 2010 for the first, the DRC will align 4 clubs in the 16th finals of the CAF club competitions. Unlike that year where the TPM won his fourth trophy in the Champions League, only two clubs had participated in the preliminaries. Triple feat in weekend deserves congratulations to V. Club, CS Don Bosco and MK who joined the TPM.
V. Club has controlled Kano Pillars and waits for Dynamos
The “Moscovites” perpetrator of a brilliant victory 3-1 in the first leg were able to start with a bang the second leg. From the first minutes, Tady Agiti ETEKIAMA scored for V. Club and Nigerians were forced to score 4 goals expecting to take the place of the second Congolese representative in the Champions League. With its advance, V. Club assured until halftime before its defense weakened in the 66th and 71st minutes on achievements of Shehu ABDULAHI and Abdul HARUNA. At 2-1 in the final whistle (3-4 aggregate win), Kano Pillars has not bridged the gap in order to expect having recourse to penalty kicks.
Eliminated last year by Zamalek beefier than him, AS V. Club inherits in 16th final of the Zimbabwean club Dynamos, within its reach but not easy to maneuver given its last performance in the CAF clubs. First leg in Ruffaro Stadium in Harare weekend of February 28, March 1 and 2, the second leg will take place a week after in the Tata Raphaël Stadium in Kinshasa.
Ismaily: "giant" for MK
In CAF Cup, CS Don Bosco will be accompanied by a novice, FC MK, which was held in failure (0-0) in Kinshasa against Al Ahly Atbara from South Sudan but qualified due to goal scored outside, 1-1 in the first leg. In the 16th, the team Max MOKE will have to face the harder to chew, Ismaily of Egypt. The first Leg in Kinshasa at Tata Raphaël stadium the weekend of Feb. 28, 1 and 2 March 2014. Can we afford to say that nothing is impossible for MK? Anything can happen in football...
Remember that Don Bosco did the hardest during the first round in Kamalondo by winning 3-0 against Victoria University of Uganda. The next step will be very difficult for the Salesians who limited the damage (0-1) in Kampala and will meet Djoliba AC, the 2012 finalist of this C2.
Three qualifications earned for the Congolese football hope that these performances were not due to chance or luck for DRC Clubs.
