Before leaving for Abidjan, Robert KIDIABA MUTEBA, goalkeeper of the Ravens and captain of Leopards from DRC was in Goma, in North Kivu, Tuesday, March 18. The star player of the TPM responded to the invitation of the international organization “Peace One Day” to kick off a campaign for the return of peace in eastern of DRC.

Robert KIDIABA MUTEBA and other partners of Peace One Day met in Goma to launch activities in respect with the September 21, the date of the celebration of the International Peace Day. In associating the goalkeeper of Ravens and Leopards of DRC to this event, Peace One Day wants to sensitize thousands of young people affected by conflict in eastern part of the DRC. The personality of Robert KIDIABA MUTEBA is well known, his involvement in the campaign will give hope to DRC and the Great Lakes region for the return of lasting peace.

“My commitment to the restoration of peace is flawless. Football is a unifying factor; our supporters fighting must cease fire... "said the great Robert during a press conference in front of dozens of admirers.

The initiator of Kidibouake, a dance for peace, said: "As long as the opportunity arises, I will spare no effort to contribute to this noble mission. Young people who follow me and are in the bush for fighting, I'll ask them to abandon their weapons. The other way to reintegrate them will be sport why not football. To the international community, I request their supports to maintain democracy and their assistance for the construction of stadiums for example, to enable young people to change their mind…” he said.

At the same table during these discussions, Robert KIDIABA shared his ideas with VIPs as Mary ROBINSON (Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of United Nations for the Great Lakes region), Martin KLOBER (Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in DRC), Maker MWANGU FAMBA (Congolese Minister of Education), Barbara BENTEIN (UNICEF Representative in DRC), Marie COUTIN (Search for Common Ground, Director for the DRC), Stefano SEVERE (UNHCR Regional Representative DRC), Sister Angelica NAMAIKA (Representative of the community of believers), Lexxus Legal (Musician), INNOSS'B (Representative of Youth and musician), Melissa KASOKE (Representative of youth) and Jeremy GILLEY (Founder of Peace One Day).
