Tout Puissant Mazembe

In an interview published by our Algerian colleagues about Buteur (www.lebuteur.com), the MO Béjaïa Senior coach, Nasser SANDJAK, said at the end of the first leg that his team is far from letting go, despite the draw conceded in Tchaker stadium. The former coach of JS Kabylie revealed that his team still has all its chances, even if the mission will be more difficult in a few days in Lubumbashi.

When asked initially about the draw with a goal on either sides, the Béjaoui coach said: «We knew at the start that it was going to be difficult because in front, we played the winner of the Champions League. TP Mazembe does not need to introduce in Africa. This is a great team that dominated African football in recent years. But we did our best. I want to say that we still keep all our chances in the second leg. There is still a second round we will play deeper. »

Speaking later on the performance of his players, SANDJAK said again: « I want to thank my players who have demonstrated a great game. They did their best and I do not blame them for missing the victory. We had many opportunities to kill the game, especially in the second half but that will not discourage us. They made a game of men. I know that they will be at the height of the game in second leg. » 

« It is in difficult times that we often raise our head »

Finally, SANDJAK reminded many times his team was able to draw itself from the most difficult situations: «When I look back on our journey and the path we have had to travel to be in the final, and it motivates me and even it is more reassuring. We went to Morocco to get qualification when many thought we were going to miss it. That is why I say that MOB has always met the challenges in the most difficult times. I hope we will win this cup ... »
