Mazembe and Sanga Balende exempted, Kinshasa clubs in preliminaries

CAF, on Wednesday December 21st in Cairo, carried out the draw for the combinations of the preliminary round and the 16th round of the 21st Champion’s League and the 14th CAF Confederation Cup. Mazembe, V.Club, Rennaissance and Sanga Balende which will represent the DRC are informed. The Draw seems to be favorable for the Congolese ambassadors!
Not surprisingly, TPM, champion in title of C2, like eight other clubs : USM Alger, Al Ahly, Zamalek, WAC, ES Sahel, ES Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Hilal, is exempted from the first round. If they succeeded in passing the 16th, the nine African soccer cadets will only meet at the group stage. At least, the CAF with its new formula avoided oppositions worthy of the finals of the competition in 8th for example!
TPM will face in 16th the winner of the match Lioli Football Club (Lesotho) - Caps United (Zimbabwe). First Leg Match in Kamalondo and second leg away. On the side of AS V.Club, the other Congolese representative in the Champion’s League, Kinshasa club have inherited Royal Leopards from Swaziland. If successful, they will oppose the winner of the match Gambia Ports Authority (Gambia) – Séwé Sports (Ivory Coast).
In the Confederation Cup, SM Sanga Balende is exempt from the 32nd. The Blood and Gold will wait in the 16th round of the winner of the game Al Hilal Holebied (Sudan) - Saint Michel (Seychelles). For the young club of Rennaissance, it will against club from Gabon, Akanda. First leg in Gabon and second leg in Kinshasa. In the event of success, Renaissance will rub against the winner of the duel Berchem (Ghana) - MC Alger (Algeria).
