Tout Puissant Mazembe

Arriving in Lubumbashi on Wednesday 8 March, in the early afternoon, Anthony VDB made contact with the fans and had measured the excitement in Lubumbashi around the TPM. A very warm welcome accorded to the Belgian international.

A pouring rain awaited the new recruit of the TPM as he left the arrival hall of the international airport of Luano. And despite elements Anthony VDB decided to stand up by the sunroof of the car to greet the fans throughout the journey under a strong entertainment of the group called [Cent pour Cent] 100%. As a result: Anthony found was completely wet! At the time of finding out the reason of this bad weather, some have not hesitated to say that it is a sign of blessing that shows good sign of better days at TPM. 

With the casual number 18 and the name "MALELA" pasted on his back – as a tribute to his mother who was so named – the comments have rocketed! Very quickly, many supporters gathered along the route did not hesitate to call him MALELA. For the greatest happiness of the crowd, the man from Brussels, in full procession, shacked the hands of the supporters. Of course yes, despite the rain, Anthony VDB kept his smile until he reached the destination point, the TPM stadium where he juggled with the ball for a few minutes before welcoming the enthusiasm of the supporters of the TPM!   

“Even in Europe, there are not many players who receive such a welcome. I did not have this image before I arrived, it makes me the desire to do even more. I came to win titles with the TPM. I made a choice of heart, despite solicitations in exotic countries and even in Belgium ...” Anthony told the Media covering his arrival.

Just before he left the stadium, he met briefly with the technical staff. By shaking his hand Thierry FROGER, the senior coach, welcomed him and promised to meet him in the next few hours for a finalization.
