The Confederation of African Football has just taken some surprising measures at its symposium in Rabat (Morocco). One of them concerns directly TP Mazembe whose opponent in the quarter-finals of the C2 has just changed...

The Committee noted the lifting of the suspension of Sudan by FIFA and indicated that the Sudanese clubs involved in the Total Champion’s League and the Total Confederation Cup are not disqualified but lose, in accordance with the regulations, their games of the 6th day of the group stage. As a result, Sudanese team Hilal El Obied is qualified for the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup. |
Application: El Hilal Obied finished second of the pool behind Zesco (10 points both). TP Mazembe will visit him in the first leg on 8 September before receiving him in Kamalondo on the 15th of the same month.
Sudanese results in the group stage: 3 victories against Zesco (1-0), Smouha (2-1) and Libolo (2-0 on 2 penalty-kicks), a draw against Smouha in Egypt (1-1) and two defeats: 1-0 in Angola at Libolo's and the 3-0 on green carpet against Zesco.
Founded in 1931, El Hilal Sports Club El Obeid – its full name – finalist of the Sudan Cup, is participating for the first time in the Confederation Cup.
